My bird featured in Inside Out Magazine

One of my pots has been chosen to be part of the last Inside Out Magazine issue. I am thrilled because I love this magazine.

I met Miki Oka - J’ai rencontré Miki Oka

Miki Oka is the artist in residence at the Canberra potters society until this end of October. She is a young Japanese artist who makes some colourful and joyful pots. She is a great illustrator as well and uses her drawings on her pots. I really like her style very free and spontaneous. Below is a pot I bought from her. A pot with cockatoos as you often see in the Canberra sky.

Miki Oka est une artiste en résidence à la société des potiers de Canberra jusqu’à fin octobre. C’est une jeune artiste japonaise qui fait des pots tres colorés et joyeux. C’est aussi une excellente illustratrice et elle utilise ses dessins sur ses pots. J’aime beaucoup son style très libre et spontané. Ci-dessous est un de ses pot que j’ai acheté. Un pot avec des cacatoes comme on voit souvent dans le ciel de Canberra.

Where to find my pots in Canberra?

You can now buy my pots in Canberra, at the Potters Society shop at Watson Art Centre 
The shop is open Thursday to Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Vous pouvez maintenant acheter mes pots à la boutique de la société des potiers, au centre d'art de Watson. C'est ouvert de 10h à 16h du jeudi au dimanche.

CLAY presence - Exhibition

The 13th of September was the opening of the Canberra potters society members exhibition "Clay presence". It is a beautiful exhibition with very diverse entries from the starter to the professional potter. For the occasion Vicky Grima was judging our work. I was lucky enough to win a prize for the black bird with berry cup. Have a look at the Canberra potters society website to see the other winners. The first prize was awarded to Cathy Franzi for her exquisite vases.

Le 13 septembre, il y avait le vernissage de l'exposition "présence de l'argile"des membres de la société des potiers de Canberra. C'est une belle exposition avec des entrées tres diverses, du hobbyiste jusqu'au professionnel. Pour l'occasion Vicky Grima jugeait nos travaux. J'ai eu la chance de gagner un prix pour mon pot «oiseau noir et baies sauvages». Allez voir le site de la société des potiers pour voir les autres gagnants. Le premier prix a été attribué à Cathy Franzi pour ses superbes vases.

Hello, here are a few photos of my stall from the market last Saturday. I met some really nice people and designers such as Planet Boab who makes some nice hand printed T-shirt and Marja-Leena, illustrator who makes joyful and colourful artworks.

Art and Design Market at Dickson - Marché Art et Design à Dickson

I have been invited to participate in the DESIGN GATE event at Dickson College on Saturday 28th July. One of the specialties at Dickson College is Art & Design so they have organised a market day where creative art, design, and gourmet food will be showcased.
So...I am busy making some pots, I will be able to show you some new bowls I made recently. For those who can not come I will post some pictures.

J’ai été invitée à participer à une journée du design dans un Lycée près de chez moi dans le quartier de  Dickson. Ce sera sous la forme d’un marché artisanale et d’un marché gourmet avec de bons produits locaux. Je suis donc bien occupée à faire des pots.  Je pourrai vous montrer de nouveaux petits bols que j’ai faits récemment. Pour ceux et celles  qui ne pourront pas venir je posterai des photos que vous pourrez voir ici. À très bientôt donc...

Few words about the market...

A few words about how the Canberra Handmade Market went last Saturday. It was great with lots of people who came to the market and had lovely things to say about my pots and screen print designs.
The pots which had the most success were the "Girl in black" and "Girl in pink". They are some of my favorites. They are now sold out but I am making some more...

Quelques mots à propos du marché de samedi. C'était chouette, Il y avait pas mal de monde et les gens avaient des trucs sympa à dire sur mes pots et impressions sur tissus. Les pots qui ont eu le plus de succès sont les pots  "Girl in black" and "Girl in pink" ils sont maintenant épuisés mais j’en fais de nouveaux, ils font partie des pots que je préfère.

Handmade Market Canberra...Here I come! :)

I am pleased to announce that I will be holding a stall at the next Canberra Handmade Market on the 9th of June, so if you like my pots, come and take a look and say hello! I have always enjoyed playing with clay since I was a child but it is only in the last few years that I have been creating pots. I thought it would be nice to share what I do with my family, friends and anybody interested in handmade pottery and design.

Recently, I have been busy in my shed making new pots. I made a family of pots in slip cast porcelain and have added transfers which have been created from my drawings (I am an illustrator). I have decided to start selling some this year, so if you are interested you can visit my online shop here.

Enfant, j'aimais déjà jouer avec l'argile mais je me suis vraiment "lancée" dans la poterie que depuis quelques années. Avec ce blog, j'ai envie tout simplement de faire partager ce que je fais avec ma famille, mes amis et les gens intéressés par la céramique et le design en général.
